Rambling River Days Buttons

Regular buttons still available at some merchants. Saw them at Econofoods today!

The Contest

This year, we asked local students aged 10-16 to design the 2008 Rambling River Days Button and boy were we in for a treat.  The contest was sponsored by the Dakota Valley Arts Council (DVAC), and on April 25, 2008, board members met to choose the winning design.

Students submitted entries ranging from pencil-drawn free hand to complex, computer-generated graphic art designs.

The Winner

Alexis Johnson, Age 11, is a 5th grade student at Farmington Elementary School.  Alexis was presented with a shadow box memento by Beve Preece, President of Dakota Valley Arts Council, during our Rambling River Days 2008 press conference on June 2nd at the Farmington Library.  Congratulations Alexis!

Where can I get a button?

Rambling River Days buttons cost $3.00 and are initially sold by our Miss Farmington and Little Miss Farmington contestants.  Area businesses serve as sponsors for each candidate, and you can find each candidates button board prominently displayed at her sponsoring business’ location.  Show your support by purchasing a button directly from your favorite candidates sponsor button board.
